Service teams are the hands and feet of our church family. They’re groups of ordinary people who simply say “yes” to God, using their time and gifts to help create a welcoming, worship-filled place where lives can be changed. Whether you’re greeting at the door, rocking a baby in the nursery, running sound, teaching kids, praying with someone, or helping behind the scenes, your role matters. When we serve together, we reflect Jesus to one another and to our community.
God didn’t design the church to be a place we only attend, He designed it to be a family where every person has a purpose. Scripture teaches that each believer has been gifted by God to build up the body:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace…” (1 Peter 4:10)
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27)
“For we are God’s handiwork… created in Christ Jesus to do good works…” (Ephesians 2:10)
Serving isn’t about filling a spot, it’s about following Jesus. He Himself came to serve, and He calls us to live the same way:
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” (Mark 10:45)
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” (Matthew 20:26)
When you join a service team, you’re helping people encounter God with fewer distractions and more care creating space for worship, discipleship, and life change. And as you serve, God grows you too:
“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds… encouraging one another…” (Hebrews 10:24–25)
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” (Colossians 3:23)
There’s a place for you here. You don’t have to “have it all together," you just have to be willing. When you serve, you belong, you grow, and you help carry the mission of the church forward, together.
